Ned Heads: Game of Thrones Cake Pops

Ned Heads: Game of Thrones Cake Pops

To make these for your next GOT gathering,  you’ll first need to follow our recipe for red velvet cake pops.

While the white chocolate coating is setting make a small batch of buttercream.

2 cups icing sugar

1/4 cup softened butter

1 tsp vanilla

2-3 tsp milk

In a medium sized bowl, combine the icing sugar, butter, cream cheese, vanilla and milk. The icing should be thick but workable (not so dry that icing sugar is still sitting at the bottom of the bowl unincorporated). Should you find the icing is too dry add in an extra teaspoon of milk.

Divide the icing into two separate bowls.  Melt two ounces of semi sweet chocolate in the microwave and combine that with  buttercream in one bowl.  Add in extra icing sugar if the icing is too runny afterwords and more milk if the icing is too thick.

In the second bowl, use some red food colouring to dye it blood red.  You want this icing to be a touch thinner than the chocolate icing so that it drips off the cake pop slightly like the red icing in the photos so add more milk if necessary.

Melt another ounce of chocolate and use a tooth pick to draw on the face with the melted chocolate.  Pipe some hair onto the pops using the chocolate buttercream and then use a spoon or spatula to spread the red icing onto the bottom of the of the cake pop.  When spreading the red icing, pull your spoon or spatula down and away to create the look that it is dripping.

Eat em!
